Robert Wilson, III
How were you introduced to the Church of Christ?
I became a member of the Church as a direct result of my wife, whose family were members of the Church for years. Also, the examples of Bro. Walter Vance, who was the evangelist at the East Chester Street Church of Christ in Jackson, Tennessee; along with Bro. Cleveland Willis, who was an elder at the same congregation where I was baptized, inspired me to serve in some capacity of the Lord’s church.
The greatest challenge I face as an elder is to continually evaluate myself and my spirituality so as to ensure that I am not a stumbling block, especially to those I oversee in God’s fold.
My Favorite Scripture:
The scripture that helps me keep things in perspective is Psalms 27. This is my favorite because God has said that I should trust in Him and be not afraid. It is so encouraging to me to know that God will always be with me.
Robert worships with his wife Stella and they have three adult children.
